MECHANICAL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN - EXCELLENT BENEFITS PACKAGE - DAYTIME HOURS AND NO WEEKENDS!
An exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer with a mechanical bias to join a well-established FMCG client at their modern manufacturing facility near Pontefract.
The business has seen significant investment over the last 18 months with the installation of new machinery and technology providing a great platform for the successful candidate to grow and develop their career in a progressive and financially stable environment.
We are keen to speak with Mechanical Engineers who have demonstrable experience within a high-speed manufacturing environment along with a mechanical engineering qualification / or recognised mechanical apprenticeship.
Hours of work are:
Monday to Thursday 6am - 2pm Friday 6am to 11.30am
Monday to Thursday 2pm - 10pm Friday 11.30am to 5pm

JOB DESCRIPTION
Provide a maintenance and engineering service to production departments
Trouble shoot and fault find to maintain and enhance automated processes and machinery
Use cost effective methods and foresight to prevent problems occurring
Provide technical advice
Provide breakdown support
Assist in developing preventative maintenance plans
Report on engineering work and down time
Assist with the installation and commissioning of new machinery
Contribute to project work
Work effectively with colleagues at all levels
Update SOPs
Adhere to Health & Safety requirements all times
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Mechanical Engineering qualification or apprentice trained
Experience working in a high-speed, manufacturing environment
Good knowledge and ability to fault find on mechanical installations
Good working knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics systems
Basic electrical fault finding and knowledge of PLC's would be advantageuos
Good IT and numeracy skills
