We are recruiting for a Facilities Technician for a fantastic client based in Central Oxford.
The Facilities Technician will join the facilities team who are responsible for the running and maintaining of the building, and to ensure that it remains fit for purpose. Under the direction of the Deputy Facilities Manager you will be expected to take a leading role in routine maintenance on the building fabric, equipment and plant that is not covered by the Estates Services.
The Facilities Technician will take the lead in carrying out routine repairs, maintenance and supervision of some contractors within the building. As part of the role there will also be general porterage tasks when required.
Responsibilities:
* Carry out basic repairs and maintenance to the building, equipment and utilities or ensure that appropriate action is taken to call in additional support.
* Undertake routine reactive and planned maintenance in the building as required (lighting, plumbing, carpentry, painting, decorating, fixtures and fittings).
* Either resolving the issue or referring on to others as appropriate.
Essential
??Technical knowledge and experience in building repair, maintenance with previous experience in a similar environment.
??To be able to work independently and effectively as a member of a team and with experience of supervising and training of other staff in a busy environment.
??Organised, ordered and disciplined approach to work with excellent attention to detail in a prompt manner.
??Knowledge and experience of health and safety.
??Knowledge and experience in manual handling at work.
Desirable
??A background in building maintenance.
??Working knowledge of Audio/Visual aids and systems.
??Trained in PAT testing.
??Previous experience in a similar busy, demanding environment.
??Previous experience of digital building management systems, or similar.
