The Role
 
As a Process Technician, you will review processes at our Lake District Creamery to ensure that they are being carried out as efficiently as possible.
 
Reporting to the Product Technical Manager, you will investigate CIP (Clean-in-Place) efficiency, product losses, energy use and any process issues.
 
Working closely with Engineering, Production, SHE and Technical departments, you will:
 
- Check and ‘tune’ CIPs
- Ensure cleaning is carried out effectively using minimal amounts of water and chemicals
- Carry out testing and measurement on products and equipment to ensure consistency
- Perform product loss investigations to measure and test loss
- Identify and recommend ways to reduce energy use
- Diagnose trends and provide reports of your findings
 
About You
 
To join us as a Process Technician, you will need:
 
- Experience of working with multi-functional teams to work within disciplined processes and timeframes
- Knowledge of food manufacturing factory processes
- The ability to apply fault-finding techniques to find the root cause of issues
- The ability to communicate, report and devise solutions in collaboration with others
- Good numerical and IT skills, including MS Word, Excel and Outlook
- An A-Level qualification in Physics, Chemistry or Mathematics (or equivalent)
 
Ideally, you will have around three years’ experience in a processing role. An IOSH Working Safely qualification would be beneficial to your application, as would a foundation degree level qualification in Dairy Science.
 
Process knowledge (Dairy: cheese, whey, milk) would also be advantageous, as would previous experience in using data reporting tools such as Power BI, Quick Reports etc.
