General Counsel, 5 Years plus PQE, Leeds.
LNT Group comprises 5 core businesses ranging from racing cars to construction and care homes. In recent years the Group has seen huge change and growth, as such a need has arisen for an experienced legal professional to join the business as it embarks on an exciting journey.
You will assist the main board of directors with the legal input to manage business acquisitions and disposals, negotiate shareholders agreements and commercial agreements as well as manage corporate governance. The Group is highly transactional, whether buying land and selling care homes, buying businesses or entering into other contractual arrangements. In addition, the role supports the Board (and ensures compliance) on the company secretary side. You will help manage all external legal advisers, in particular on corporate transactions, property purchases and sales (but you do not need property law knowledge - this is very much a corporate/commercial role).
This role would suit a down to earth corporate/commercial lawyer who enjoys and has experience of making transactions happen. You will really get involved in the running of a business and get away from time recording! You should have the commercial nous to take key decisions and have a strong work ethic. The individual will need to be analytically adept, commercially aware and be able to contribute and communicate across the business at all levels. It is paramount that the person undertaking this role is comfortable in a collegiate environment with short lines of communication and an open style.
The business has a great ethos: full of energy and a can-do attitude. You would be joining at a stage in the business's development where you can really make your mark and your contribution will be recognised.
The view is that this is a long-term hire for someone who can develop further on into a leadership role. As such the successful individual will need to be of the highest calibre. Upon joining, this role will report directly to the Board.
