Job Summary
Hours : 12hrs shifts, Typically 2000 - 0800
Waking Night shifts: Assisting with settling the young people (ages 10-17) who have emotional, behavioural and social difficulties from the evening onwards. Providing support through out the night if required. Completing light housework duties.
Should you require additional support throughout the night there will always be staff sleeping in at the home.
Qualifications and Skills
Experienced residential child care worker (i.e. in children's homes) preferred, but not essential. All training will be given.
Btec Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or Children and Young People's workforce/ their equivalents is preferred, but not essential. There is a requirement to complete this following successful probation period and so you must have the ability to do so.
Ability to work throughout the night - this position requires to to remain awake throughout the night.
Care staff need to be friendly, energetic and approachable, while being able to uphold boundaries and ensure the safety of the children and young people in their care.

group of children and young people within a residential care and school setting, as part of an integrated staff team. To ensure this is achieved it is a requirement that you stay awake during all working hours.
