The Company:

An excellent opportunity has been made available by my client an established housing provider in the UK. My client is an established housing provider with a generic housing management and supported housing services.

The Role:

My client is looking for a Support Worker on an initial two to three-month contract with the view to an extension based in Nottingham NG15 and NG17.

Although you would be based at one location, you could be called upon during your working day to go provide emergency cover elsewhere.

Workers who are placed in the city and asked to cover in the county for example will be paid the difference of their home to work (being the allocated project) mileage to the county project (NG15, NG17) and vice versa.

The mileage rate is 0.45 per mile.

The successful candidate will need extensive experience in supporting vulnerable clients with complex mental health support needs.

This is a full-time role 37.5 Hours per week role, the candidate must be willing and able to cover various shifts working on a 24-hour rota 7 days per week including sleep ins.

Pay rate for this role is GBP9.50 PAYE OR GBP12.00 Umbrella.

Sleep in rate: GBP36.78

This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check.

You will also need a Moving and Handling certificate

*FULL PPE will be provided for all workers

Day to day duties will include:

As a Support worker, you will be responsible for key holding including coordinating other shift staff, administering medications and handling money

You will be tasked with assuming responsibility for safeguarding adults and/or children who have needs for care and support, are experiencing, or are at risk of, abuse or neglect, and as a result of those needs are unable to protect themselves against the abuse or neglect or the risk of it.

You will need to maintain service user records through the organisation's IT systems or paper records; sharing confidentially with work colleagues and other relevant people as appropriate to provide consistent care and support.

You will be required to maintain Health and Safety and day-to-day records of financial transactions and administration; using organisations job specific IT/ technical systems.

Part of your role will be to enable service users to make informed choices through joint reviews of Care and/or Support planning and recorded risk assessments.

An important aspect of your role will be maintain a safe and healthy physical environment for service users and colleagues; complying with current infection control policies and procedures and completing relevant Health and Safety training
Respond to health and safety issues; implementing emergency procedures where necessary.

The Candidate:

The successful candidate will have previous experience of having worked as a Support worker or in a similar capacity for an established housing provider or a local authority, including:

Have received both vaccinations and have evidence of it as they'll be working in a care home
Become part of Organisations COVID testing regime
Be willing to work in a COVID environment and if need be with service users who may have tested positive
Be willing to work on a rota basis which will include nights, early and late shifts
Be willing to provide personal care
Have medication training with certificates and confident in administering medication
Have moving and handling training with certificates
