I am actively recruiting for several Positions for a well-established Customer in Greater Manchester, great opportunity and great location for commuting.

In your new role as a: Shift Lead-Electrical Engineer

As a lead member of the Engineering Team, you will always be looking to deliver best practice, excellent engineering standards and support the operation to deliver business needs.

Be responsible for Day-to-day leadership of shift members including prioritisation and allocation of workload; deploying labour based on the maintenance schedule and requirements of the task against the competency and capability of resource.
Working closely with Shift Operations Managers, and other support teams daily to ensure direction of labour, and planned engineering activities fully support our Operation.

Typically, working within a team of between 2 and 20 Engineers
Managing between 1 and 6 Engineers
Providing expert front-line Engineering knowledge to support the Production operation
Jointly responsible for an Engineering budget

Assessment of engineering team skills and behaviours, assisting in up skilling and training on trade skills, site equipment & specific site processes.
Attend daily production meetings, to ensure the maintenance plan is communicated and any equipment issues are resolved and prioritised accordingly.
Drive a proactive continuous improvement culture within your team, encouraging root cause thinking to prevent failure reoccurrence.
Management and development of department processes; including shift handovers, briefs, and defect reporting/resolving.

Maintain and improve performance to maximise efficiency of operation in line with KPIs.
To be considered for the role as Shift Lead-Electrical Engineer

Knowledge of Planned Maintenance and PPM development
Broad Knowledge of Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Mechanical, Electrical & PLC/Inverter Assets
Technical Hands-On Engineering Experience, through recognised time-served apprenticeship ideally within food manufacturing, although ex-military route candidates also actively considered.
Technical qualifications in either mechanical or electrical at a minimum NVQ Level 3
Ability to significantly contribute to crisis situations.
Strong influencing skills across all levels of colleague
Ability to stay strong in the face of challenge to ensure that the correct decision is made.
Strong decision-making skills to enable decisions to be made autonomously.
Specific experience of prioritising resources in a busy environment
Ability to engage positively with production to ensure equipment release for maintenance.
Strong experience in managing safe working and ensuring safe systems of work are followed.
Skills and Experience Required

A minimum of HNC or equivalent in electrical and/or mechanical Engineering, with a strong electrical bias.
Food Manufacturing experience is an advantage.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Exceptional organisational skills and be able to demonstrate problem solving.
IOSH Health and Safety Course is an advantage.
Cross functional team building/ working skills.
