Flint Bishop is a leading, top-200 law firm with offices in Derby, Ashbourne and Birmingham.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our head office Administration team as a Switchboard Operator.

This role reports to the Facilities & Office Services Manager, with overall reporting lines into the Head of Department.

The Switchboard Operator is responsible for delivering high levels of client care, by dealing efficiently and professionally to all incoming telephone calls from clients, suppliers, and business partners to the firm.

Key Responsibilities for the Switchboard Operator

* Receiving all incoming external telephone calls for the firm in a professional, friendly & polite manner at all times.

* Handle all external calls in a confident, courteous, and polite manner regardless of the nature of the call.

* Evaluate and identify the nature of the enquiries and direct the calls through to the relevant department of person in a timely manner.

* Be aware on a daily basis of all information that may be relevant or needed to be given to external or internal callers.

* Take messages and ensure that these are passed on to the relevant member of staff within the required timeframes.

* Ensure that you have knowledge of staff movements in and out of the firm (where appropriate/required)

* Maintain a daily log of the switchboard calls for management information reporting.

Other Responsibilities for the Switchboard Operator

* Assisting with sorting of incoming post

* Sorting of file labels for relevant fee-earners and departments.

* Assist departments with closing of files where needed.

* Any other ad-hoc administration tasks set out by the Facilities & Office Services Manager or Head of Department, as necessary.
