This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR Manager, who enjoys working in a generalist role within a varied environment. The key purpose of this role will be to provide an outstanding generalist HR service, to ensure the smooth operational running of the group.

Working closely with the COO, the role of HR Manager will be responsible for managing a small but highly dedicated HR team of three, whilst also playing an integral part within the Operational Leadership Team.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure all employment related records are maintained in accordance with current legislation and policies

Ensure consistency of approach and documentation in all HR and compliance related records

Ensure that the Single Central Record is maintained and fully meets all the legislative requirements, as defined by statutory safeguarding guidelines

Provide expect technical HR guidance on employment law, policies and processes to the Operational Leadership Team and Senior Management Teams

Apply expert technical knowledge on HR processes and policies to directly participate in the dispute resolution, hearing and resolving grievances

Coordinate and supervise implementation of disciplinary, grievance, harassment, welfare, absence assessments and policy implementation

Revise, introduce and implement policies and procedures in line with best HR practice and, as required by employment law, provide appropriate briefings to the COO and Leadership Teams

Ensure all HR documentation is compliant with employment law

Undertake recruitment and selection processes for management and academic staff and maintain an overview of support staff recruitment

Develop and implement the recruitment planning process, including developing systems to record information relating to organisation structures, workforce profiles, sickness absence statistics, and employee turnover

Undertake research and project work as directed

Represent the HR function at meetings when required

Comply with Equal Opportunities Policy and to assist in the development of Equal Opportunities

Comply with all Health and Safety, Child Protection and Risk Management Policies and legislation in the performance of the duties for the post

The successful candidate will have:

Must have extensive experience as an HR Manager/HR Business Partner (or Senior HR Officer) in a stand alone role

Fully CIPD qualified or a suitable HR Degree

Experience either within education or another highly regulated industry would be advantageous.

Demonstrable, in depth experience of successfully managing a wide-ranging case load of ER matters

Proven ability in implementing and maintaining a wide range of compliance policies and procedures

Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written

Demonstrable ability to write high quality letters, policies and procedures on a day-to-day basis

The ability to produce accurate information consistently

Experience of using a range of HR software programs

A high level of IT literacy, inc. Microsoft teams and Office 365

In depth employment law and HR procedural knowledge and demonstrable experience of applying that knowledge to diverse and complex ER matters

The ability to build effective relationships at all levels

Proven ability to provide credible, concise and results focused HR advice to Line Managers

Resilience and the ability to self-manage

Salary up to GBP40,500 (May be negotiable, depending on experience)
