English and Maths Co-ordinator


Salary: GBP15,082.60 per annum

Term Time Only (20 hours per week, 40 weeks per year)

We currently have a fantastic opportunity to join our student services department as an English and Maths Co-ordinator to support students (identified as needing additional learning support) to improve their English and Maths skills.

Responsibilities of our English and Maths Co-ordinator:

- Leading a team in sharing good practice and the development of the English and Maths Learning Advisors, which ensures high achievement and good retention

- Being responsible for efficient timetabling and monitoring of those learners who are being supported with their English and Maths, including ensuring sickness cover is impactful and effective

- Supporting recruitment for the college overall to ensure learners are enrolled on an appropriate programme of study

- Leading and developing Study Hubs to support learners skills and English and Maths

- Carrying out liaison with curriculum areas, parents, other support areas and other external agencies to ensure a positive learner journey

- Contributing, driving and delivering on the quality of the support for English and Maths and the motivation of staff within the remit of the post by conducting learning walks, staff performance development reviews and observations

- Liaising with the Senior Administrator for Learner Support Services to contribute to the accuracy of income streams and ensure annual reviews of processes and documentation and guidance by changes in local and national policy

- Carrying out regular monitoring of staff utilisation data with teams within the remit of the post and implementation of strategies to achieve agreed targets

- Supporting marketing and promotion of courses within the remit of the post, including contributions to the website, Open events and any other marketing events

- Collating and acting upon learner feedback regarding the support given to learners

What we're looking for in our English and Maths Co-ordinator:

- Level 2 in Maths and English

- Evidence of ICT competence

- Post graduate Teaching or Education qualification or Certificate in Education

- Experienced background in supporting young people and adults with English and Maths

- High standard of written and spoken English

- Excellent administrative and record keeping skills

- Awareness of initial assessment procedures

- The ability to support students on a range of mainstream courses

- The ability to work across the age and ability range in classroom, workshop and one to one situation

- Use own initiative to maximise learning and to engage learners

- Proven experience in improving and maintaining quality

- Have a proven understanding and commitment to the development and provision of excellent customer service

- Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
