We are currently recruiting for a Process Technician on behalf of our client in Hull.

The successful candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently controlling the operation of the site production to ensure all requirements are achieved.

Main Duties

* Carry out mandatory site safety functions:
o Critical Safety Device testing
o Safety surveys
o Carry out plant emergency plans
o Boiler testing
o Awareness of the Environmental Permit for the site and the operating conditions and limits within it
* Plant start ups, shutdowns and seed switches strictly following procedures, maintaining communication with supervisory and maintenance teams.
* Monitor and control quality parameters with online and laboratory data, make necessary process adjustments to ensure that product quality is assured. Carry out routine process quality control tests
* Complete 'Operator Standard Work' daily, as defined.
* Use of downtime tracking tools, inputting event codes to correctly identify cause of downtime
* Use of current and historical process data storage software
* Monitor plant equipment performance including surveys on essential plant equipment
* Have complete understanding of all PID control loops on plant and knowledge of when to interfere and make adjustments to the loops.
* Use shift log to report and track maintenance and safety issues. Ensure shift handover is detailed and includes all relevant information for oncoming shift
* Contribute to daily execution meetings, working closely with the supervisory team to resolve operational issues.
* Lead or contribute to daily continuous improvements - i.e. troubleshooting/ root cause analysis
* Open to new process technologies to improve operational efficiency
* Monitor stocks of materials and equipment
* Perform Operator Asset Care and 5S activities.
* Coordinate with site support team regarding production and training requirements
* Assist with new projects
* Contribute to Continuous Improvement Workshops outside of shift pattern where required.
* Receive appropriate training/ refresher training when required.

Minimum Required Qualifications
* 5 GCSE's A-C (including English & Maths)
* HNC or equivalent
* Minimum of three years industrial process experience
* Preferable - NVQ III, in technical discipline

Preferred Qualifications
* Experience of working in a self managed team environment
* Continuous improvement methods
* Basic mechanical engineering and diagnostic skills
* Planning and organisational capability
* Knowledge of HACCP
