Are you a time served Machinist with experience of delivering training? Would you like to work for Portsmouth's leading provider of apprenticeships and corporate training?

An exciting position has arisen to join the our clients team as an Engineering Machinist Instructor at their training facility in Havant.

Your New Role

Joining the team as an Engineering Machinist Instructor, you will be responsible for providing high quality engineering training to young learners, apprentices, and corporate clients. In your new role, your duties will include.

Coaching and mentoring individuals in the use of Lathes, Mills and CNC.
Liaising with companies to ensure the correct training programme content is formulated
Plan, prepare and undertake assessments of competence against the awarding body standard
Ensure that all relevant paperwork relating to training and assessments as well as company business is completed on time and accurately
Providing advice, guidance, and support to corporate clients
Ensure the immediate reporting of accidents

What you will bring to the role???

As our clients new Engineering Machinist Instructor, you will need to demonstrate occupational competence from hands on experience in a machining role, combined with a background in training and ideally a teaching qualification. To be considered for this position, you must have the following qualifications and competencies:

Time served Engineer with machining experience in Lathes, Mills and CNC.
Computer aided Design
Level 3 Engineering Qualification
Level 2 literacy and numeracy
Good communication and presentation skills
Experience of working with young people
Full driving licence and use of own carDesirable Requirements

NVQ/QCF Assessor qualification
Teaching qualification
Experience of working in a learning environment
Good understanding of apprenticeship frameworks

Please Note: As you will be working with learners from 16 years plus through to clients attending their commercial courses, the ability to relate to and communicate well with a wide age range is crucial. A DBS Registration and Disclosure is required.
