EVENINGS PRODUCTION SHIFT MANAGER
FULL TIME, PERMANENT
STANTON DREW BS39
Starting Rate: GBP14.38ph (whilst training)
Once trained: will rise to GBP15.87ph
Evening Working Hours: 5.15pm to 1.45am
About Our Client
Based in a lovely location in Stanton Drew my client is a fast-paced manufacturing and production business, who manufacture products to well known food industries. Due to internal changes my client is now looking to recruit a Production Shift Manager to drive production improvements and improve quality of products.
Job Description
As the Production Shift Manager you will report directly to the Senior Shift Manager to oversee and be responsible for all production Operatives and Line Leaders on your shift
Brief job responsibilities include but are not limited to (a full list can be issued):
* Manage all line leaders and Production Operatives on shift (ranges from 20-30), including appraisals, attendance, timekeeping and corrective / disciplinary action
* Ensure each production run is set up and ready to go on time, and that stock is calculated correctly prior to production run
* Oversee and manage cleaning standards in production rooms, on machines and all equipment (including liaising with hygiene team)
* Ensure staff are trained, know all job requirements, targets, roles and quality of each job and that all staff are aware of food safety and PPE requirements
* Allocating staff to lines, and liaising with Senior Shift Manager for any staff requirements
* Ensure all clean rooms and production staff are at optimum capacity, and all productions targets are achieved to the quality standard expected
* Liaise with the planner and other departments to ensure all developments or issues in Production are raised
* Ensure labels are issued to the lines and that all machines are maintained by staff who have been trained
* Problem solving to find the best solutions for all aspects across production, monitor wastage, weights, tolerances, reject rates and mass balance
* Ensure the correct figures and details are entered onto production records, with any down time recorded and reported
* Ensure finished goods are calculated correctly during and after finishing the production run
* Ensure all company procedures are carried out correctly and health and safety guidelines are kept
The Successful Applicant*
* We are looking for a confident and articulate applicant to join our team.
* Previous experience working in a leadership role within a manufacturing environment would be preferred.
* Applicants must be organised with the flexibility to change plans to meet the needs of our production plans
* You may have experience of the following: Team Leader, Manufacturing Supervisor, Senior Production Operative, Manufacturing Team Leader, Production Supervisor, Wet Press etc
