Service Care Solutions are recruiting for a temp Agency Capital Accountant to work in Plymouth within the NHS.
Three months Fixed Term Contract to identify the full accounting impacts of the transition to IFRS16, implement the new monitoring and reporting requirements through the ledger and the fixed asset register and to complete all associated IFRS16 returns.
To provide support to the Chief Financial Accountant, Associate Director of Finance and Financial Controller in ensuring the provision of accurate and timely management information in respect of leases.
To develop and maintain right first time financial systems and processes to meet the needs of the Capital Accounting function with respect to IFRS16.
To provide advice to stakeholders with regards to capital accounting and associated financial regulations and procedures complaint with IFRS16.
To ensure the accuracy of the Trust's Capital Asset Register (ensuring compliance with IFRS16).
To maintain the accuracy of the Trust's Finance Lease Register (ensuring compliance with IFRS16).Hourly Rate is GBP29Ltd an hour (paid weekly via a umbrella company)
PRIMARY DUTIES & AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
To liaise with procurement, estates and other key stakeholder to identify all existing and new leases and assess the impact of IFRS16.
To support and advise Trust staff on all aspects of IFRS16 Transition.
To ensure that the financial implications of IFRS16 are effectively communicated to all parties who need to be aware of them at a level of detail necessary to their needs, including the revenue consequences of capital investment.
To provide training all parties who need to be aware of IFRS16 impacts in assessing and maintaining IFRS16 compliance for new leases.
Using a broad range of financial techniques/processes and utilising specialist knowledge of complex accounting regulations and relevant legislation, produce timely and accurate monthly financial reports on the capital programme, both at summary and individual project level.
Provide expert advice to finance staff and non-finance managers on all matters relating to capital expenditure and finance leases.Experience
Ability to demonstrate theoretical and practical knowledge at an advanced level in general accounting procedures.
Ability to demonstrate in depth, specialist theoretical and practical knowledge in capital accounting procedures, relevant legislation and NHS finance policies.
Ability to demonstrate in depth, specialist theoretical and practical knowledge in finance lease accounting procedures, relevant legislation and NHS finance policies.
Experience of working autonomously to apply specialist knowledge to the interpretation of policies, standards and targets as well as Accounting Standards and Codes of practice.
Ability to demonstrate recent Continuing Professional Development including specialist training and experience relating to NHS Finance and capital accounting as well as general accounting standards.
Experience of liaising effectively with project managers.
