Trainee Lifeguard
Nestled in the heart of our forest you will find the centrepiece of Center Parcs, the Subtropical Swimming Paradise. Open from 10am to 9pm daily the huge pool area includes a toddler pool, wave pool, whirlpool and exciting flumes as well as the wild water rapids. Swimming lessons are available for all ages with qualified instructors. There are many activities available from learning to Snorkel, Scuba Diving and Aqua jets.
TRAINEE LIFEGUARD
We are currently recruiting for a Trainee Lifeguard to work in our Subtropical Swimming Paradise. Your role as a Lifeguard on poolside will be to maintain a safe and healthy environment for our guests.
Once qualified, you will be required to assist in the smooth running of the pool by maintaining a high standard of service to our guests in line with Center Parcs policies as well as observing and supervising our guests to prevent dangerous behaviour and ensure pool rules are followed at all times.
You must maintain a positive and professional attitude to exceed guest's expectations whilst they are using the facility and be responsible for acting immediately and rescue any swimmer who may be in difficulty or require first aid. In addition, you will be required to complete general cleaning duties around poolside.
Successful candidates will be required to attend an NPLQ course and the offer of employment will be subject to passing the course.
Please note the pay rate for a Trainee Lifeguard is GBP8.91 per hour rising to GBP9.56 per hour once you have passed the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification.
As part of the interview process, candidates are required to complete a swim test.
Due to the sensitive nature of this role the successful applicant will be required to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB) with Child List Barring Check. This disclosure, together with other selection information, will need to be satisfactory to the Company for employment to commence.
HOURS OF WORK
You will be contracted to work 150 hours per 4-week period on a flexible basis. This means that your days and hours of work could vary each week, but you will always receive at least your contracted hours each period. Shifts will fall between 7am and 10pm.
As our village is open 365 days of the year, your working hours will include weekends, public / bank holidays and during Christmas and / or New Year on a rota basis.
ABOUT YOU
You must possess excellent communication skills and be friendly and approachable as you will provide a supportive role to our guests, providing personal attention and care at all times.
Essential requirements for Trainee Lifeguard:
* NPLQ Lifeguard Qualification (full training will be provided)
* Good swimming ability
* Good communication skills
* Excellent attention to detail
