Site Chemist - Waste / Recycling
Salary GBP30,000 - GBP32,000 basic dependant on experience
Location South Milford
This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of an award-winning team who are leading specialists within the waste management / recycling industry.
Role & Responsibilities:
* Management & supervision of the Yard Operatives team
* Provide technical advice and support to assist with the effective operation of waste transfer, ratio blending.
* Ensure compliance with the site permit.
* Ensure waste is properly inspected, tested and routed to the most cost-effective outlet.
* Maintain waste stock levels in line with legislation and customer service requirements.
* General daily yard duties, SCADA, Tanks, pumps
* Deliver targets defined in KPI's
* Ensure yard waste stock take is completed quarterly.
* Ensure non-conformances are reported and recorded.
* Provide technical advice to customers.
* Perform site acceptance waste inspections in line with pre-acceptance information provided and the site permit.
* Control & prepare paperwork relating to incoming/outgoing waste according to planning.
* Analysis and calibration of laboratory equipment - data entry
* Prepare weekly operation report support documents.
* Monitor and record team staff performance.
* Prepare daily LSC - TBT if required.
* Prepare & review COSHH assessment.
* Provision of technical advice substances, hazards and chemical materials
* Ensure waste is identified, labelled and packaged in accordance with legislation.
* Participate in reviews of SOP, TBRA, MHRA
Essential Qualifications & Experience
* BSc / HND / HNC in Chemistry is Essential
* Analytical lab experience
* Waste management experience.
* Dangerous goods transport experience
* Operations experience
Monday to Friday 7am - 5pm and every third Saturday 7am - 1pm
