Reports to: Service Delivery Manager
Location: Flexible base across our West Sussex locations considered
Who we are and what we do
Citizens Advice West Sussex (CAWS) is a registered charity and is a member of the Citizens Advice service. CAWS has six main advice centres in Crawley, Horsham, Haywards Heath, East Grinstead, Shoreham-by-Sea and Worthing, as well as several other locations across the community.
Through our national network, we give people the knowledge and confidence to find their way forward - whoever they are and whatever their problem. We are passionate about advice and know it can change lives, so our users and their families thrive.
In 2019-20 we helped over 33,000 people face to face, over the phone, by email and webchat as well as visiting our webpages. We help with everything from money issues to problems at work, housing to consumer rights.
Our users at the heart of what we do, by being accessible and providing a flexible multi-channelled routes to meet the needs of our clients. We work hard to make our journey seamless between channels but also between the services we provide.
The Role
This role will provide specialist advice and casework to find solutions to prevent homelessness for local residents in financial difficulty. You will take referrals from the local housing team and work closely with them to prevent homelessness through money advice and housing solutions.
This role is part of the specialist advice team working in partnership with the local authority's housing team. You will also work with other advice teams including the Debt and Money Advice, training and quality leads.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for an individual to work to deliver an excellent service to support our clients, working closely with our partners. This role would suit an experienced advisor or specialist looking to expand their knowledge into a second area. You will be working to support our clients in a specific geographical area, but we can be flexible about your base, across our offices in West Sussex.
You will work with a professional supportive team and be responsible for the management of other Advisors, there will be opportunities to progress in the organisation.
In exchange, you will have 25 days annual leave, a comprehensive induction and personal learning plan and working in an ambitious local charity who empower our clients to improve their lives.
