Teaching Assistant Vacancies
Post 1: Temporary Fixed Term from September 2021 to 31st March 2022 based in Nursery
Hours: 11.30am-3pm (approximately) Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, 14 hours 15
minutes per week. Worked over 38 weeks per annum in term time, plus 2 INSET days.
Pay: Grade C £19,312 - £20,092 (actual salary £6,206 - £6,457)
Post 2: Temporary Fixed Term from September 2021 to 31st August 2022 based in Key Stage 2
Hours: 30 hours 50 minutes Per Week. Worked over 38 weeks per annum in term time, plus 2
INSET days.
Pay: Grade C £19,312 - £20,092 (actual salary £13, 427.16- £13,969.48)
Pay Award Pending – we are awaiting confirmation of a national pay award which is likely to
increase pay identified above. Pay calculations are based upon current provisions.
Oreston Community Academy are looking to appoint two Teaching Assistants (one for our onsite Nursery
and the other to be based in Key Stage 2) who are enthusiastic, good team players and committed to
supporting the learning of all pupils, especially those with additional needs.
Oreston is a good and improving school with many outstanding features including our pastoral care for all
children. We are proud to be part of a cross phase MAT, Westcountry Schools Trust, and work closely with
our primary school partners. This post will suit someone who is hardworking and supportive of children's
learning alongside a dedicated team.

is enthusiastic, hardworking and a creative practitioner;
has understanding and experience of working with children;
has good basic English, Maths and ICT skills;
is caring and has confidence working with children;
has the ability to lead 1:1 and group intervention programmes;
is able to develop positive behaviour strategies;
an effective communicator who can liaise with parents and external agencies where necessary;
can work as part of a team and contribute to its development.
