Shift Lead needed for our client based West Midlands for a 3 month contract.
Shift pattern 2:00pm to 10:00pm
The job holder will:
* Develop, analyse and review a variety of production reports to improve costs, employee commitment/motivation, safety, production lines, quality, efficiency, cycle times, volumes, and implements changes as required.
* Achieve the required company quality standards ensuring both internal and external customer satisfaction
* Ensure that data is collated, Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) are monitored and targets achieved, e.g. material scrap, DOTIF, Cost of Production per tonne.
* Support the management team in creation of robust master process data for ERP system to facilitate MRP reports.
* Liaise and coordinate with support functions to progress issues concerning production planning and resource/skill allocation to ensure delivery of products to schedule within all relevant quality specifications.
* Schedule permanent and temporary labour to achieve efficient manufacturing to customer demand, and reduce costs e.g. over time costs.
* Communicate with the teams by utilising the visual management/metrics, delivering toolbox talks/shift briefs with focus on quality, safety, cost and delivery, and gathering ideas for improvement
Experience
* Considerable experience in a supervisory, leadership role
* Engineering, preferably rollforming background
* Computer literate and conversant with ERP systems/LN
Education and Qualification(s)
* Level 3 Leadership & Management qualification or equivalent experience
* Relevant manufacturing/engineering degree preferred, HNC, City & Guilds Licentiateship, BTec Higher Professional Diploma, NVQ level 4 desirable
* Professional (or working towards) accreditation with an industry related body desirable
* Proven track record within manufacturing management
* Ability to design processes and layouts
* Experience of FMEA (Failure Mode Effects Analysis), Kaizen/A3 (continuous improvement and problem solving), process improvement and Poka Yoke (error proofing) techniques
* Significant work experience in a high volume manufacturing environment
