Elevation Accounting & Finance are currently working in partnership with a leading organisation based in the Sheffield area as they look to expand their friendly finance function and appoint an ambitious, dedicated Assistant Accountant on a full time, permanent basis.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone currently studying towards their CIMA or ACCA qualification who is looking to broaden their finance knowledge in a progressive role where no two days will be the same.
As the Assistant Accountant, you will be responsible for a number of duties including the below:
- Month end accounts preparation
- Accruals and prepayments
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Month end reporting and analysis
- Cashflow management
- Supporting with transactional finance duties i.e. purchase and sales ledger
- Petty cash and expenses
- Bank reconciliations
- Ad-hoc duties to support the wider team where required
The ideal candidate will have the following skills/experience:
- At least 2 years experience working within a busy finance function
- Currently studying towards CIMA/ACCA
- Strong systems skills including Excel - pivot tables & VLOOKUPs
- Excellent communication skills with the confidence to liaise with individuals at varying levels across the organisation
- Ability to work well towards strict deadlines
