To help achieve our plans we are looking to appoint a Maintenance Technician to assist the Maintenance Engineers, Maintenance Team Leader and Plant Engineering Manager to keep the site running and contribute to process improvements.
Some of your key responsibilities will be:
* provision of ongoing maintenance within the Plant Engineering Department, including planned and reactive
* Support the Maintenance Engineers to idenify issues, analyse malfunctioning equipment and systems, recommending corrective action and on approval make repairs or modifications under the direction of the Plant Engineers/Manager, monitoring solutions to ensure their effectiveness
* Support the Plant Engineering Manager in the implementation and enforcement of procedures to ensure that deadlines are met in accordance with agreed practices
* Support colleagues in the identification of improvement activities and problem solving and particpate in appropriate activities on an ad hoc basis
* Support the Engineers in carrying out periodic preventive maintenance on plant machinery and equipment.
To excel in this role you will have a good working knowledge of hydraulics and/or pneumatics, good analytical skills and logical reasoning to enable excellent fault finding and resolution and be familiar with ISO 9000. Knowledge of ISO 14000 would be advantageous.
The successful candidate will have completion of Advanced Apprenticeship, HNC or higher qualification in Mechanical/Electrical or related discipline and be computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft packages.
