Huxley Engineering and UK's Engineering Giants in Mechanical Handling are looking to recruit a Mechanical Design Engineer for their Head Office in Warrington, owing to significant business growth and project pipeline for 2021-22+.

Based in Warrington and reporting into a Principal Design Engineer, the Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for:

Delivery of Mechanical Design packages, dependent on the size / complexity of the work scope.
Delivery of technically compliant design deliverables in accordance with the Design Input Requirements.
Leading a team of Design Engineers to deliver the appropriate solution from Front End Engineering to Detailed Design production.
Provide Engineering Support to manufacture right through to client handover.

Specifically, the Mechanical Design Engineer will:

Interpretation of Design Input Requirements, in support of the Principal / Responsible Engineers into fit for purpose solutions.
Production and verification of fit for purpose calculations where required
Production and verification of fit for purpose design documentation where required
Delivery in accordance with allocated budgeted cost and timescales
Day to day management of the Engineering design team (up to 5 personnel)
Supervision, verification and production of design deliverables
Design co-ordination with other engineering disciplines
Incorporation of external specialist engineering design information
Identification and inclusion of bought out plant and equipment
Presentation and/or participation at HAZOP and Design Reviews
Liaison with Manufacturing, Testing and Commissioning personnel to ensure design optimisation

Qualification & Experience Required for Mechanical Design Engineer role:

HNC / HND / Engineering Degree Qualified (or Equivalent), relevant to subject knowledge.
Preferential to be a member of an Engineering Council recognised professional body
Experience of Concept Design through to Manufacturing Documentation Production, Verification via testing and installation design activities.
Experience of leading / mentoring / control of Engineers / design teams
Conversant with British and European Technical and Legislative standards
Experienced in 2D and 3D design software packages
Mechanical Design Engineering Experience in one or more of the following areas:-
Nuclear Decommissioning
Pressure Systems
Remote Handling Equipment / Mechanical Handling / Machinery Design
Lifting Equipment
Process Plant
Conversant with British and European Technical and Legislative standards

For the successful Mechanical Design Engineer, a salary up to GBP45,000 is on offer and this Mechanical Design Engineer role is commutable from Warrington, Liverpool, Preston, Manchester, Salford, Crewe, Chester, Runcorn, Bolton, Wigan & St Helens.
