About the role:

Wolseley UK are recruiting a Branch Manager in Solihull to lead, develop and inspire the branch team to focus upon providing exemplary customer service and drive activity within the team to deliver upon all branch KPIs and targets. Build excellent working relationships with customers and other teams within WUK to develop a wide network of contacts and to ensure business development opportunities are identified and converted. Instil a culture of high standards, quality and safety in all dealings within the branch.

Solihull is a large fast paced contracts branch - GBP5 Million t/o with 7 heads. Very successful branch with a great reputation.

You will be responsible for:

Setting the branch strategic agenda, ensuring alignment of the different areas of specialisms, based upon customer insights and profiles

*

Translating the WUK corporate strategic objectives into meaningful tactical and operational plans for the branch team to enable the effective deployment of resources and to ensure appropriate commercial activities are undertaken

*

Setting a clear and inspiring direction for the branch team to ensure there is a focus upon improving customer service and maximising the customer experience

*

Accountable for the branch meeting all performance KPIs, including sales and margin, cost control, working capital, P&L and customer experience.

*

Responsible for setting and cascading appropriate targets to the branch team and ensuring effective processes are in place to enable the staff to meet and exceed such targets. The role will be accountable for assessing team performance against targets as well as taking incisive and appropriate action to address any performance-related issues

Leading, empowering and motivating the branch team and encourage an innovative approach towards the provision of solutions for clients

*

Develop, maintain and leverage excellent working relationships with the WUK Sales team, suppliers and external customers

*

Proactive approach towards business development.

*

Ensure the branch team are focused and targeted upon the identification and conversion of sales opportunities, as well as the maximising the sales of accounts in the local area

What we're looking for:

*

Minimum 3 years' experience operating as a Branch Manager in a busy, fast paced branch.

*

Strong experience of directing and developing a team within a sales environment

*

Commercial acumen and ability to execute commercial plans to deliver profitable results

*

Numeracy skills and the ability to interpret complex financial information

*

Able to engage, coach and develop a team

*

Able to communicate complex messages to a range of stakeholders and able to influence others to overcome resistance and challenges within the business in an appropriate manner

*

Able to demonstrate negotiation skills with external customers and suppliers

*

Resilience, persistence and a proactive approach towards driving opportunities and issues to a successful conclusion

*

High degree of customer focus

*

Adaptable approach - able to deliver change within a branch

*

Awareness of basic Health and Safety principles and methodology

*

IT skills - working knowledge of MS Office
