Creative 3D Designer
(Remote/ Office Work Available)
GBP35-40k + benefits, permanent, full time
A great opportunity to join this leading business with a focus on retail design, point of sale and fixtures, with the chance to progress and work with some of the UKs leading brands.
Responsibilities
* To liaise with account managers and customers to understand their design needs and requirements.
* Able to receive and understand creative design briefs, being knowledgeable in the type of information required, how and when to challenge a brief and have an ability to provide opinions and proposals at the briefing stage.
* A good knowledge of the design discovery process including trends, retail markets together with consumer and brand insights.
* The ability to produce highly creative, innovative and thought-provoking concept ideas, in both drawing and CAD form, to accurately communicate creative ideation and direction.
* Producing design solutions which go above and beyond our customer's expectations, which are visually engaging, innovative and functional solutions.
* Create solutions aligned with the businesses manufacturing and outsourced capabilities, that incorporate voice of the customer requirements, along with demonstrating an understanding of retail and consumer insights through brand representation.
* Direct engagement with customers through the aid of digital devices to enhance the customer experience and speed up the process of communication to get to final design proposal delivered at pace.
* Working with the internal team of stakeholders and the customer to ensure that the prototype is created within project specifications and expectations.
* Support and direction of team to ensure design influence and coaching is achieved and developed and retain commercially sound forecasts and records of design expenditure and timekeeping.
Requirements & Skills
* Proficiency with Sketchup , Adobe CS to include Photoshop , Illustrator and InDesign.
* Experience with a mixture of material solutions including metal, timber, plastic, glass and graphics etc.
* Ideally a recognised qualification in a relevant discipline
* Proven track record of delivering highly creative, innovative and thought-provoking concept ideas, in both drawing and CAD form (using the above software), to accurately communicate creative ideation and direction.
* Demonstrate the ability to provide insights and research in order to create compelling and evidentiary led design story telling.
* Understand and be mindful during design of responsible design principles and environmental considerations.
* Interpreting and understanding of the customer design decision making process and the ability to articulate solution to gain new project/initiative work.
* Abile to plan, organise, communicate and manage customer relationships.
* Strong presentation and communication skills that can be clearly evidenced and articulated.
* An interest in and experience of VR and AR technology would be useful
* Good freehand skills
