We are currently recruiting for a Data Centre Shift Leader for our site in Aldermaston, Berkshire, RG7 4PR

Hours: 12 hours shifts and paid through lunch (7-7)

Job Purpose:
EMCORUK are looking for an enthusiastic and capable individual to lead one of our Data Centre Shift Teams. This team will be providing technical support for all critical infrastructure during planned and reactive tasks to ensure sites highl evel of availability.

Principle Accountabilities:

Conduct all EMCOR UK preventative maintenance tasks, ensuring the shift engineering team consistently deliver a 100% PPM completion rate each month.
Implement and lead fault diagnosis of critical plant and equipment, to ensure that the clients SLA is always met. Accurately reporting all completed work orders via CMMS, including use of any critical spares/stock items used during these tasks.
Monitor and investigate BMS and SCADA systems. Provide rapid and effective response to customer requirements.
Fulfilling the role of duty AP for all M&E systems within the Data Centre and operating the equipment in a competent manner while being conscientious of business risk and energy use.
Identify areas for continuous improvement . Implement recommendations to improve processes, building, plant and systems and provide accurate reports when required.
Support and facilitate specialist/OEM sub-contractor visits, ensure they are working to approved RAMS, review competencies before issuing appropriate permits and implement client change requests as required.
Ensure specialist/OEM sub-contractors are monitored, work is verified, and worksheets are signed off and approved.
Conduct daily PLOD to ensure day to day running is communicated to stakeholders. Consider manpower, long running projects, PPMs and reactive planned works across the site.
Maintain water systems and records in accordance with L8 Legislation.
To be available/flexible in order to provide engineering relief cover in the event of annual leave, training or other absence in opposing shifts. To ensure that minimum staffing levels are always maintained.
Assisting the Asset Manager in reviewing and preparing Specific Work Control Packs, SOPs and EOPs, as well as leading the shift team through relevant environmental and technical scenario drills.
Completing the shift handover reports, ensuring that significant events or activities are noted and effectively communicated to oncoming shifts.
Escalate abnormal, environmental and power related events through to Data Centre hierarchy. Promote EMCOR UK values. Champion H&S compliance activities such as hazard and near miss reporting. Deliver monthly toolbox talks.
Liaise with OEM/preferred suppliers when ordering M&E components for remedial works.
Drive a positive culture within the team and engage with personal development and training. Coaching, development and mentoring of new employees and apprentices.
Actively contribute to continuous improvement of safe systems of work, ensuring accuracy of method statements and compliance with relevant H&S policy and procedures. Adhere to all current company and Critical Engineering Management policies.

Person Specification

Essential
Previous experience working in an electrical or mechanical installation in a maintenance/Appointed Person role, ideally within a critical environment. eg MOD, manufacturing, hospital or Data centre.
Have enthusiasm and demonstration of proactivity, conscientiousness and attentiveness, with the willingness to participate in appropriate training schemes.
Basic knowledge of UPS, electrical & mechanical systems, cooling plant.
Positive and proactive attitude with a high level of initiative . Ability to drive operational excellence within the team. Deliver the required services to the client within given time constraints and can take ownership of site
Served a full technical apprenticeship or holds a technical qualification as an engineer (C&G, BTEC ONC/HNC etc).
Good IT skills including Microsoft and CMMS
Good interpersonal and communication skills and ability to deal with all levels of staff
Good understanding of HV/LV distribution systems
Knowledge of BMS / SCADA
Valid UK driving license.
The individual must be willing to undergo DV security clearance
Previous supervisory experience
Desirable
Advanced knowledge of fire alarm systems, Building Management Systems, Cooling plant, SCADA, UPS, Generators and L8 Legionella prevention
Ability to take on the role of Competent Person (electrical) as authorised by the Authorised Person Controller.
Experience in the refrigeration and air-conditioning industry
Electrical knowledge, qualifications and experience (HV/LV)
L8 Certification
IPAF License
