We are working with out client to grow their team in order that they can ensure a fantastic service to their clients.

Their offices are a comfortable and friendly working environment based just outside Epping. The office is in a rural location so it is essential that you have a driving licence and your own transport. You will sometimes need to visit client's sites, and there is a company vehicle to use on these occasions.

This is an opportunity for someone with excellent people skills to develop their skills in a wide-range of IT technologies in an enjoyable working environment.

Technical skills can be learned and developed, and an excellent attitude to customer service and a job well done is essential.

Hours: Full time, Monday - Friday, 8.30 am to 5 pm

Salary: GBP21,000 to GBP25,000, depending on skills and experience

Job Summary

You will be assisting customers who have printing hardware installed on site. Some things can be fixed over the phone or using a remote link, and on other occassions you will need to visit sites to help install a network or make changes to the hardware. You will also be assisting the team with in-house IT issues.

(This role is not a printing engineer role, there is a seperate team for that! This is for the software/IT side of things!)

* Assisting with Installations of hardware/software and associated network

* Assisting with connectivity of office equipment and supporting software

* Remote assistance/technical support

* Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults

* Undertake tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the various IT systems, assist on project work and eventually take ownership of certain functions within the IT infrastructure

* Providing hardware basic checks and repair when required

* Ensuring the necessary security provisions are in place, including ongoing/routine backups

* Manage IT equipment stock levels, allocation and distribution

Key Skills

* Hard-working and willingness to learn

* Excellent customer relations and communications skills, both written and verbal

* Strong organisation skills

* At least 12 months' experience within an office-based role, ideally in a tech support function

* Knowledge of Network infrastructure and cabling

* Knowledge of Remote desktop/Virtual services

* The ability to follow instructions and work independently

* Strong problem solving and analytical skills

* Excellent team working and communication skills - the job holder will deal with all levels of the organisation, including end users/customers.

* The ability to prioritise multiple tasks and projects based on business needs

* Proactive with a positive, can-do attitude

* The ability to learn quickly

* Quality conscious

Non-essential skills but advantageous

* Knowledge of Microsoft technologies, such as Windows Desktop, Office365, Windows Servers and Active Directory

* Basic knowledge of Linux server's administration

* Apple Mac OS knowledge

* Experience of building PC's from scratch
