We have the upmost pleasure of working with our client who are based on the outskirts of Ipswich who are looking to recruit a Factory Co-ordinator.

Purpose & Scope:

* The purpose of this role is to provide support to the Production Team Leaders / Supervisors and provide information and enhance communication between the Planning and Production elements of the Factory.

* The scope shall include shift-to-shift allocation of resource and direct supervision of factory personnel. Working towards mid-longer term capacity planning to include capacity modelling and Time Studies.

* Main Duties

* Direct staff and report or deal with performance and behavioural issues as they arise.

* Support the existing Team Leaders / Supervisors in encouraging operators to run machines at their optimum performance.

* Take an active role in shift and material planning.

* Report slippage and provide reasons for delays and initiate improvement activities to ensure the situation is not repeated.

* Plan and organise training of any new processes, procedures or techniques relevant or required for new products.

* Liaise with Materials Supervisor / Team Leader to ensure enough material is available for the shifts.

* Ensure succession by selecting and developing an individual/s to deputise at times of absence

* Ensure Operators follow work instructions and Product Specifications. Ensure jobs are being run using the optimum set up needed to ensure efficient running and quality product. Ensure sufficient materials have been issued.

* Carry out new starter H&S inductions.

* Health & Safety

* Maintain compliance with Health & Safety procedures and Safe Systems of work.

* Promote health and safety awareness to all staff.

* Promote safe Manual Handling techniques and use of lifting aids.

* Ensure all guards are fitted to machinery, either during patrols or the sign off procedure. Report problems to the Factory Manager.

* Ensure Operators have received appropriate Health & Safety and Machine Training for the machines being operated/tasks performed. Operators shall never be permitted to operate machinery without training first.

* In addition to the above carry out any duties deemed necessary to ensure the efficient and safe running of production shift.
