If the answer is yes, Hooray may have the role for you.
Hooray are recruiting exclusively on behalf of a local charity for a full-time permanent Media and Communication Specialist. My Cheltenham based client, is an organisation founded on Christian values and has grown significantly in recent years - from having one supported housing project of 50 beds in 2014 to more than 250 beds today. The organisation also provides community sports activities at a dedicated sports centre in Cheltenham.
The Media and Communications Specialist is responsible for the effective dissemination of messaging and information delivered internally and externally across the charity using all means available within the budgetary constraints of the charity.
The role of Media Specialist supports the charity's strategic objectives by ensuring communications are of high quality, while also ensuring that information in the public domain is current, meaningful to its intended audience and supports the reputation and good standing of the charity.
The role is also responsible for effective engagement with the Christian communities throughout Gloucestershire and, in particular, within the communities in which the charity currently or intends to operate. This includes the delivery of messaging and information about the charity delivered within a specifically Christian context and framework.
To be successful in this role, you will possess previous relevant experience with media, proven strong presentation and communication skills. You will have knowledge and a working understanding of communication practices, tools and techniques in social media. Experience in managing projects and contributing to organisational planning and development. Professional characteristics supporting proactivity, self-motivation and the ability to meet deadlines. You will have creativity in developing relevant promotional content and the ability to work flexibly, as well as planning and prioritising own work to meet necessary objectives. You will have outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
As a Media & Communications Specialist you will have experience in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, Outlook) and cloud-based systems including website Content Management Systems. Also experience in using Adobe InDesign (or willingness to learn) as well as evidence of developing and achieving ambitious performance standards and KPIs. You will have the ability to manage your own workload with minimum supervision, to tight deadlines and to work well in fluid and fast-moving environments and excellent attention to detail and accuracy. In addition, you will have the ability to maintain good working relationships across a range of staff levels both internally and externally. Experience in dealing with the public and capable of representing the organisation to the public as may be necessary.
The particular and specific nature of this role - the requirement to successfully interact and engage with Christian communities throughout Gloucestershire will require the post-holder to have an exceptional understanding of the Christian faith.
The salary for this position starts at GBP23,200 per annum. The organisation provides a contributory pension, 20 days holiday (increasing after 2 years with an additional extra day of holiday, up to a maximum of an additional 5 days) and up to 10 days sick pay per annum. The organisation also offers non-contractual benefits such as life assurance, health plan (such as money off dentistry and opticians), bike to work scheme and free use of the organisation's sports facilities.
