HR Assistant
A leading Legal 500 with multiple regional offices and an outstanding reputation are expanding their Human Resources team; seeking a HR Assistant. Please note that this HR Assistant will initially be employed through the Government's "Kick Start Scheme" and therefore it is essential that the successful candidate satisfies the following criteria:

Be between 16-24 years of age
Be in receipt of Universal Credit
Considered to be at risk of long-term unemployment
The role will be full-time and the successful HR Assistant will be offered a permanent contract. It will be based in their Uckfield office, however there may be the occasional requirement to travel to other offices.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

Offering support to the highly experienced HR Manager in a range of duties including involvement in Employee Relations - i.e. attending meetings (minute taking where necessary) relating to disciplinaries, annual reviews etc.
Involvement in recruitment - including liaising with Recruitment Agencies, handling direct applications, advertising new jobs and organising interviews
Drafting offer letters and co-ordinating new starter paperwork
Requesting references for new starters
Liaising with various departments to set up new starters
Involvement in Employee Relations - i.e. attending meetings (minute taking where necessary) relating to disciplinaries, annual reviews etc.
Managing Employee records such as sickness, holiday etc.
Assisting in the interview process of candidates
The successful HR Assistant will benefit from full (and on-going) training in order to reach his or her full potential. There is the possibility of support towards further professional qualifications (such as CIPD).

The successful HR Assistant will offer the following skill set/background:

Able to adhere to the "Kick Start Scheme" (please see above) - ESSENTIAL (those who are not eligible will unfortunately not be considered)
Have a genuine interest in HR
Strong academics (ideally educated to at least A-Level standard) with GSCE in Maths and English (minimum Grade C/4)
Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
Strong interpersonal skills
Willingness to learn
Ability to follow instruction
Ability to work autonomously
Be smart and presentable
Polite and professional telephone manner
Solid IT skills
Ideally have your own driving license and vehicle - not essential
