We are currently looking for a bookkeeper to join a Bedford office.

This is a permanent position, working part-time or full-time.

GBP10-GBP13 hourly

Ideal candidate experience requirements:

* Bookkeeping experience in practice.

* Able to produce up to trial balance from client receipts and records.

* Understanding of VAT, PAYE, CT600 and/or SA100 tax an advantage.

* Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge (Pivot Tables, SUMIF and Lookups).

* Administration of office including client calls and file management.

* Self-motivated and able to work to tight deadlines.

* Experience of Dext, Quickbooks, Xero or TaxCalc.

Bookkeeper duties:

* Preparation of trial balance from client paper records.

* Manage incomplete records via client interaction.

* Support implementation of online bookkeeping.

* Reconciliation of:

* Purchase ledger

* Sales ledger

* Cash at Bank and Petty cash book

* Fixed Asset register o General ledger

* PAYE control

* VAT control

* Run monthly online payroll.

Office administrator duties:

* Maintain client records using both paper and digital HMRC archives

* Log incoming client queries in shop and over the phone

* Support implementation of a paperless office

* Maintain office timetable in accordance with client deadlines

* Prepare Companies House filings
