We are looking for a talented Electronic Machine Tool Repair Technician to join our team specializing in Maintenance for our Manufacturing site in Huddersfield. Salary between GBP32,600 - GBP36,200 depending on experience.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Diagnosis and repair of electronic faults on all equipment including complex CNC machinery and complex PLC control systems.
Scheduled maintenance and servicing of equipment to OEM standards.
Manage preventative maintenance schedules using our Asset Management System (Maximo).
Respond rapidly to emergency breakdown situations and create work completion reports using Maximo.
Use problem solving tools to reduce downtime and suggest improvements using Root Cause Analysis techniques.
Mentor/train apprentices and less experienced members of the department.
Attend manufacturing improvement meetings and work cross functionally to resolve issues.
Work to all relevant safety standards.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
Apprenticeship training. NVQ - level 3 or equivalent
Minimum City and Guilds level 3 in an electrical\electronic discipline
Preferred, Advanced Diploma or equivalent. (ONC,HNC)
Experience in a recognised engineering industrial trade (Electrical\Electronic).
A preferred minimum of 2 - 4 years post apprenticeship electrical maintenance experience.
Previous experience repairing machine tools, preferably including CNC lathes, CNC machining centres, CNC grinders, gantry loaders/robotics and balancing machines.
A solid understanding of machine tool control systems including servo and PLC control.
Equipment installation and commissioning.
This role will be the standard day/night shift Monday - Friday with a call out rota for the weekend.
