External Communications Coordinator


Full time, 37 hours per week (Monday-Friday)

3 months

GBP17.00 - GBP20.00 per hour (dependant on experience)

Tate are working with a very well respected and long serving client who are an energy company looking to recruit an External Communications Coordinator to help with investments and the new billing system, which will initially be remote working but the applicant should be based in Reading for when restrictions lift to attend the office.

The Role

Due to the Covid19 pandemic, this role is currently remote. However, candidates should still be local to Reading, as meetings and a hybrid work pattern once restrictions lift where the role will then become office based.

Key Duties and Accountabilities:

Responsible for ensuring all external stakeholder accounts and customers are informed about how business energy's transformation programmes will impact them
Ensure clients and customers receive the best customer service whilst delivering the correct information at an appropriate time through the most appropriate channels
Creating and delivering the external communication strategy by building, delivering and managing the strategy and processing communication across multiple programmes and projects within the portfolio (which includes the new billing system, smart metering and Ofgem's switch programmes)
Managing stakeholders and maintain an accurate stakeholder tracker for those externals and along with customers and liaise with internal stakeholders, ensuring all interested parties are included in the communication plan
Ensure what needs to be communicated is efficiently processed to when and whom whilst collating third party and customer change impacts and translating them to what it means for those involved
Customer trials are to be arranged and involve a system or trial process and plan the engagement and communication of this
Working with the IT team to create the strategy communication plan to ensure the delivery of messages on all programmes are translated efficiently for thorough understanding
Managing the delivery includes working with the marketing team and internal stakeholders to ensure the resources are allocated to craft the messages/translations of the plan and ensure the delivery arrive on time/track the timeline to ensure everything is punctual
Liaise with programme team on requirements, status, next steps and see what can be improved

The Ideal Candidate:

Excellent Attention to Detail and Communication skills
Confident in dealing and speaking with external stakeholders and discussing important information
Proven ability to delivery results in programme environment
Experience of creating and delivering external customer communications and programmes
Being able to follow a portfolio (programme) change and create messages upon this
Being able to navigate a large organisation
Knowledge and experience in utilities or another regulated industry would be adventurous
Preferably experience in the Collections industry or has worked in a call-centre environment
Confident and professional telephone manner
Self-sufficient and able to manage workload whilst working on own initiative
Strong IT skills
Experience in inputting data to systems in high volumes and fast-paced
A positive and can-do attitude towards the role itself and it's responsibilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to translate changes to non-technical and non-project management audiences
Ability to work with IT resources such as databases and spreadsheets, Personal Attributes & Competencies
Excellent task management skills, working across multiple projects and programmes
Excellent stakeholder management and management skills
Skilled in preparing presentations and communications
Ability to translate changes to non-technical and non-project management audiences
