Payroll, Rewards and Benefits Manager

You'll oversee and ensure the provision of an excellent payroll, rewards and benefits offering to the employees of Malvern College, our UK family of schools (currently two schools) and associated trading subsidiaries (around 600 employees in total).

Payroll, Rewards and Benefits Manager Responsibilities:

To oversee the day-to-day rewards and benefits provision across the family including:

Payroll:

Leading the payroll function to ensure all employees are paid accurately and on time
Ensuring that the monthly and annual reporting cycles to HMRC, pension providers and others are met.
Overseeing the implementation of annual pay review changes to ensure that all elements are accurate and that the changes are communicated to employees in a timely manner.
Participating in annual salary surveys such as those required by the Office of National Statistics.
Ensuring that accurate and up-to-date records are maintained using agreed systems which facilitate the production of management information and ad-hoc reporting.

Rewards and Benefits:

Developing, implementing and maintaining appropriate rewards and benefits policies and procedures, in conjunction with the Directors of Human Resources and Finance, and promoting them using innovative communication methods to maximise their take up.
Leading on the administration and negotiation of Employee Benefits including Private Health, Critical Illness and Death in Service Policies in conjunction with the Director of Human Resources.
Leading on reward initiatives such as salary sacrifice, in conjunction with the Director of Finance and the Director of Human Resources.
Managing Pensions reporting, auto-enrolment and compliance, for all staff, working alongside Pensions Advisors and Human Resources as required.
Providing market based benchmarking data as requested by the Director of Human Resources and Director of Finance.
In conjunction with the Director of Human Resources and Director of International Schools, support Malvern College's International Schools with Rewards and Benefits as required.

Compliance:

Meeting statutory and other reporting requirements such as Gender Pay Gap and Equal Pay audits, in conjunction with the Director of Human Resources.
Ensuring legal compliance with National Living Wage.
Ensuring compliance with Working Time Directive and liaising with the Director of Human Resources regarding any potential breaches of regulations.
Developing appropriate processes and systems to achieve digitalised provision of payslips, rewards and benefits and associated policies and procedures.

Finance:

Preparing preliminary reward and benefit budgets for each School and assessing the financial impact of legislative changes such as increases to employer pension contributions or holiday pay calculations.
Preparing documents, files and reports for annual audit purposes including TPS, HMRC and statutory requirements.
Preparing and issuing monthly management reports relating to rewards and benefits.
Processing employee Expenses including compliance and guidance on legislation.

General:

Being the point of contact for employee queries regarding pay and rewards and liaising with the Human Resources team as appropriate.
Willingness to challenge existing working practices and design, promote and advocate streamlining and digitalisation.
Co-ordinating the ongoing management of payroll records and associated rewards and benefits information and liaising with appropriate line managers.
Being proactive in communicating with colleagues, irrespective of their location.
