Payroll Administrator

Hours: 8 am - 5 pm

Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday

Salary: GBP24,700

Location: Dumbarton (Office Based)


Positions holders ensure employees are paid accurately and timely with correct withholding and deductions. Activities include:

* Calculating overtime, shift payments, sales commissions and bonuses.

* Accounting, distributing and preparing taxes and deductions.

* Ensuring that payroll related balance sheets and accounts are reconciled and controlled.

* Working with the business to model headcount projections, expected pay inflation, forecasting etc.

* Maintaining payroll records.

* Preparing reports for management or to meet legislative obligations.

* Ensuring payments comply with contracts, legislation, or other regulatory instruments.

* Preparing and distributing pay information to employees

* Answering questions from employees and supervisors regarding payroll matters.

Accountability Level:

Entry-level professionals or highly experienced operations/technical/support Jobs. Typically completed higher education/qualification or requires expert technical operational knowledge of procedures and tools obtained through extensive work experience. First point of escalation for non-routine situations.

Key Responsibilities:

* Process, review and reconcile monthly payroll for all pay groups including Expat management (Tax, Pensions, etc.).

* Assist HR in processing annual incentive payments, bi-annual travel allowance and end of service benefits to employees.

* Record changes affecting net wages such as exemptions, insurance coverage, and loan payments for each employee.

* Record data concerning transfer of employees between departments.

* Interpret company policies and government regulations in relation to payroll procedures.

* Calculate taxes and reconcile general ledger account.

* Prepare periodic reports of earnings, taxes, and deductions.

* Review and process all payroll changes, worksheets, and prepaid/void checks prior to the payroll deadline.

* Ensures timely reporting and payment of the employer's and employees' national insurance and payroll taxes and miscellaneous withholdings to appropriate agencies (e.g. Pension, Sharesave, CSA etc.).

* Administer payroll, including payroll payments and balance sheet reconciliations.

* Develop an understanding of the Payroll Database to be able to create reports on demand.

* Manage Expat Agreements and tax compliance
