The role

Monksfield provides care and support to children aged 6-17 years with moderate to severe learning and or complex health and physical disabilities, consisting of two units. Acorn provides 5 short break beds and Adlin House is a 4-bedded long-stay Childrens Homes in Hexham run by Action for Children. We are a highly motivated and supportive team, providing care, encouragement and support to the children who live within Adlin House. Ofsted rated the service provided to disabled children and families as "Good', and we are focused on working towards achieving 'Outstanding'

As an Assistant Residential Worker, you will be working primarily day shifts per week on a rota basis with shifts that can include bank holidays, weekend shifts, occasional Waking night shifts and sleep in's as part of the rota

You will help our team provide a safe, stimulating, fun and caring environment, supporting the children with household tasks and all aspects of their care. You'll also attend training, team meetings and supervision during the day on the one- day shift per month.

You will make a difference by:

- Helping them in all aspects of their daily lives and supporting their health and happiness

You will need:

- A Level 3 Diploma (formerly known as NVQ) in Children and Young People or equivalent or the willingness to work towards this

- Experience of working with disabled young people

- Excellent communication skills

- Safeguarding knowledge

- A positive approach, providing a fun environment for all the children in our care.

- Access to a car would be desirable due to the location and the opportunity to be trained to drive the home's minibus.
