Volunteering and Training Manager
We are looking for a Volunteering and Training Manager to hold overall responsibility for the volunteering & training strategy for a leading youth charity.
Position: Volunteering and Training Manager
Location: Croydon
Salary: Up to GBP33,000 per annum
Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week.
Contract: 9 months fixed term contract (maternity cover)
Closing Date: Wednesday 28th July 2021
About the role:
The Volunteer and Staff Training Manager will hold overall responsibility for the volunteer strategy, and management of all volunteers, to recruit, train and support a pool of volunteers to work alongside qualified staff across the different sections of the Youth Zone and on other projects.
They will support the Youth Work Manager to develop and deliver CPD and training for sessional youth workers and staff to enable the delivery of quality youth sessions.
About you:
You will be an enthusiastic and inspiring individual, with demonstrable experience of working with and helping to develop, volunteers and staff. You will have strong interpersonal skills with a pro-active 'can do' attitude and be comfortable working under pressure without supervision.
You will need to bring with you the following skills and experience:
* Experience of recruiting, managing and motivating volunteers and members of staff
* Experience of leading the planning and delivery of retention programmes
* Experience of designing volunteer training programmes and delivering training, including for those with low levels of literacy
* Experience of Safeguarding and dealing with safeguarding disclosures
* Knowledge of current trends and practices relating to volunteer recruitment, management and retention
* A willingness to work unsociable hours when required
