Sellick Partnership has been engaged on an exclusive basis to recruit a Financial Reporting Accountant to join a Warrington based Private Equity backed organisation who has seen significant growth in the last few years.
This is an excellent opportunity for a first or second time mover from a top 10 practice firm to gain excellent exposure to a variety of different business areas and the opportunity to drive reporting capabilities for the wider business with regular exposure to senior stakeholders. In addition, the role has been ear marked as a succession planning opportunity and provides a wide variety of challenges and career advancement.
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will be responsible for assisting with the management of the delivery of the statutory year end accounts, monthly reporting and other external reporting within agreed timetables.
Key responsibilities
Planning & preparation of Statutory Accounts
Consolidation of all group accounts
Supporting the preparation of the Group annual report and financial statements
Development and ownership of the reporting function
Support on ad-hoc financial reporting for projects and M&A where required
Stakeholder management
Management of a small team
Plan and execute stat account audits
The successful candidate will be a fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA making their first move from a top 100 practice firm and/or from a similar role in a group finance function of a GBP40m+ turnover business.
You will have strong knowledge and experience of stat accounts, group financial consolidations and reporting. You will have significant impact in the wider business, working with key stakeholders so must be confident and a real desire to understand the inner workings of each function across the business to provide valuable and insightful contributions.
Knowledge of the latest technical accounting practices and the impact they have had on the industry. Strong knowledge of IFRS and/or IFR102 is essential and if you have experience in IFRS16 that is highly desirable but not essential.
It is essential the candidates applying for the financial reporting accountant position have excellent stakeholder management with the ability to influence and build working relationships; coupled with strong presentation and communication skills with the ability to communicate complex issues simply and effectively.
