Workshop Mechanic / Fitter
Stafford, Staffs
Contract role - GBP17p/h - GBP19.00p/h Umbrella/Ltd (outside IR35)
3 months, likely extension
I am working with a key client in Stafford who are looking for a Skilled Workshop Mechanic / Fitter to work on capital plant equipment in the workshop ready for maintenance, service, overhaul and repair, into the water treatment and air filtration sectors. You will assist with stripping, fault finding, fitting and assembly activities, working on a straigh Monday to Friday day shift.
For this position, you will require to conduct the following duties:
v Ability to read engineering drawings to tight tolerances in some instances and use hand tools
v Assemble, fit all aspects mechanically on industrial static and mobile plant. Electrical issues/faults/wiring expereince also.
v Working on equipment such as diesel engines, generators, pumps, fans, scum skimmers, aerators, agitators, and sprayers and chemical dosers / misters etc
v Check, service and clean equipment
v Checking hired items for any damage causes
v Get equipment back to scratch and ready to use
The successful person will need to have the following attributes:
v Mechanic / Mechanical fitter experience rebuilding engines and basic vehicle electrics
v Good workshop skills such as cutting/grinding/drilling
v A strong team player
v Experience within a mobile plant/hire engineering workshop
v Strong communication skills, with a keen eye for Health, Safety and Quality.
v You will ideally be apprentice trained with a mechanical engineering/apprentice trained background
