Due to rapid and continued growth our client wishes to expand their existing team with the successful hire of a Mechanical Assembly Operative.
The Mechanical Assembly Operative will be responsible for taking the mechanical elements, sometimes cables and the assembled PCBs and build the customer product in accordance with the build instructions.
Some products are very straightforward to assemble, others are more difficult and demand skill, patience and a high degree of dexterity to get right. All products require care and attention throughout.
Quality and versatility are everything in this role. Quality, because usually you will be the last person to touch the product until it reaches the customer and versatility because they manufacture a wide range of products and often delivery requirements change on a day to day basis.
The main responsibilities of this role are:
Checking kits of parts ahead of assembly for quality and quantity
Assembling the mechanics of our customer products.
Ensuring the assembly process has been followed and the product is complete and packaged correctly for despatch.
Ensuring that batch and serial number data is recorded correctly. A flexible attitude towards working hours and a competent, keen personality are also key to this role. You may also be asked to work in different areas across the business when the need arises.

High quality of mechanical assembly.
Adherence to all ESD and material handling processes.
Adherence to all Health & Safety processes and procedures.
Good housekeeping of workbench, mechanical assembly area.
Adaptable and flexible to help achieve 'challenging' delivery dates.
Accurate with all paperwork and record keeping. Education/Qualifications/Special Training
Any previous work within an electromechanical product assembly environment would be advantageous
Experience
Experience of small product assembly using basic hand tools
Able to solder to a high standard
Experience of working in an ISO9001 environment
Experience of working in an area handling static sensitive electronic assemblies
Any previous experience in a batch-manufacturing environment
Providing support to manufacturing / production
Working with others to resolve manufacturing difficulties
