As part of its succession plan, this leading manufacturing company is looking for a Sales & Marketing Manager to ultimately take over from the current incumbent upon his retirement.
The company is a highly successful and respected organisation, manufacturing machinery for a wide range of businesses both in the UK and internationally.
BASIC SALARY: Up to GBP65,000

JOB DESCRIPTION: Sales & Marketing Manager : Manufacturer - machinery, capital equipment
Initially, as the incoming Sales & Marketing Manager, you will get to understand the business in full including all functions, cultures and values.
You will work alongside the current Sales & Marketing Manager in readiness for his retirement.
Thereafter you will take full responsibility for the sales & marketing functions of the business, which include: internal and external sales people, marketing and Export Sales Managers (up to 70% of products are exported).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Sales & Marketing Manager : Manufacturer - machinery, capital equipment
As the successful candidate, you will:
?? Prepare annual sales and marketing budget plans, including sales income and expenditure and seek approval from Managing Directo,r prior to any significant commitments on expenditure being made.
?? Agree overall company and individual sales targets and monitor results.
?? Develop and maintain good professional relationships with main accounts and strategic partners of the company including, customers (end users, OEM's, Agents and Distributors etc.), suppliers and Group companies.
?? Propose, appoint, monitor and liaise Agents, Distributors and Sales Associates within allocated territories who can assist in the achievement of the company objectives. You will agree their targets, marketing plans, exhibition visits, training and monitor results.
?? Negotiate, implement and maintain governance over all sales related contracts.
?? Understand the needs and anticipate new sales / marketing opportunities for all customers.
?? Visit customers within areas of direct responsibility.
?? Implement pricing policies and achieve sales objectives.
PERSON SPECIFICATION: Sales & Marketing Manager : Manufacturer - machinery, capital equipment
You must have previous experience in a sales & marketing management position with full departmental responsibility.
You must also possess excellent leadership skills and commercial acumen and have the desire to lead a team.
