Job Shop Recruitment has a great opportunity for a Continuous Improvement Officer to join a prestigious client of ours based in Exeter.
Reporting to the Lean Director, you will be responsible and accountable for rectifying areas of operational waste within the organisation. You will be expected to deliver on strategic targets coaching, training and assessing others working across departmental boundaries leading multi-functional teams through process improvement projects. Working with the relevant departments to develop, set the pace and implement business transformational change and continuous improvement strategy with sensitivity towards the organisational structure, commercial approach, culture, people and processes.
Main Duties to Include
Strategy and Development
Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice operational processes and procedures to aid and improve organisation performance.
Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on Lean activities
General and Task Management
Develop a robust culture for waste reduction and process improvements
Implement and support cultural change across the organisation and drive business improvement ?? Lead Kaizen events to methodically action business improvements
Develop, deliver and support delivery of business improvement change initiatives.
Develop and contribute towards improvement standards in line with best practice
Provide expertise, professional advice and guidance to the business in business improvement, drawing from proven industry practice and methodologies
Report on progress of projects, understanding the risks, dependencies, budgets, resourcing, issues, critical milestones and forthcoming pipeline, and actions necessary to ensure success
Define, develop and publish business improvement process documentation to reflect best practice
Attend various meetings and action/communicate instructions
Produce written reports and make presentations
Undertake continuous training and development
Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems
Identify business improvement opportunities within the organisation
Relationship Management
Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance
Work collaboratively, negotiate and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with the Lean strategy
Liaise and communicate with other departments, customers, suppliers and other service providers
Ensure an effective interface with other departmental staff is maintained

Support, comply and ensure complicity with Health & Safety regulations, the Company Handbook, Quality and Environmental standards, and all other Company policies and procedures

Strong financial management abilities
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders and employees at all levels
Qualifications and Experience Levels:
Relevant experience in Lean, Continuous Improvement or Waste Reduction methods
Black Belt in Six Sigma or equivalent qualification advantageous
Background in process improvement
