Leonardo has a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer to further their professional development in an organisation at the forefront of aircraft technology. The Senior Systems Engineer will work within a team developing next-generation capabilities for customers.

As a senior systems engineer you will have the ability to apply your knowledge and experiences of the engineering lifecycle, with opportunities to support the early definition and design activities through to integration, and qualification, before demonstrating and delivering completed solutions to our customers. You will work within a multi-disciplined project team, alongside domain and product subject-matter experts in a highly collaborative and supportive environment.

In addition to the flexible working patterns offered by Leonardo's custom working initiative, this role is also available on a part time basis.

Support the design, development, modelling and analysis of systems.
Undertake feasibility / trade-off studies to explore and determine system. architectures.
Develop system requirements and translate them into subsystem. requirements and interface definitions.
Develop and execute verification plans to demonstrate design compliance.
Create technical documentation to capture the system solution.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to support developments.
Document and present key findings and recommendations to customers and industry partners.
Essential:

Experience of working across the full systems engineering lifecycle.
Experience of engineering gate reviews and the associated assessment of design compliance.
Ability to produce clear and concise technical documentation.
Self-motivated with an aptitude for problem solving and driving difficult issues to conclusion.
Experience of supporting design / delivery teams to develop complex, technical solutions in accordance with plans and processes.
Excellent verbal and written communication / collaboration skills.
Proficient at requirements elicitation, negotiation and definition.
Degree qualification, or equivalent, in a relevant engineering or related scientific discipline.
Desirable:

Knowledge of signal processing.
Experience with Systems tool (e.g. DOORS, MATLAB and Simulink)
Expertise with MBSE processes, tools (e.g. Rhapsody) and languages (e.g. SysML).
Experience working in the defence (ideally airborne) industry
