Private Client Solicitor is required by a busy and highly-regarded multi-service Law Firm, to join their expanding Wills & Probate department at their Barnsley Office.

The successful candidate should be enthusiastic and confident in their own ability with preferably 3-5 years PQE. This is an exciting opportunity for a Wills & Probate Solicitor looking for personal and career development opportunities; allowing the candidate to build upon their experience within a progressive, yet well-established practice.

The successful candidate will have experience of dealing with a breadth of private client matters including the preparation of Wills (including estate planning and tax planning Wills), powers of attorney, estate administration, trust work and court of protection proceedings.

Role Overview:

Undertake fee earning work and provide a profitable contribution to the work of the department.
Ensure the successful development of the firm in line with the business plan.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Conduct of matters on behalf of clients.
Supervision of fee earning work undertaken by colleagues.
Management of support services for which they are responsible, including supervision of own secretary.
Participation in marketing activities whether on a firmwide, departmental or office basis.
Financial control with particular regard to cashflow control through collection of monies on account and billing procedures.
Perform fee earning work accurately, reliably and in accordance with the firm's quality and risk management procedures [Lexcel].
Gain or maintain IT skills appropriate to modern legal practice, such as ability to send, forward and respond to e-mails with or without attachments, conduct research on internet and ensure proper filing of all data.
Understand the main uses and applications of the office telephone system - e.g. be able to re-route calls, set up conference calls, etc.
Assisting with non-routine tasks from time to time as requested

Skills and Experience Required:

Excellent customer service attitude and communication skills.
You need to be meticulous and have a high attention to detail.
Preferably 3-5 years PQE.
Ability to work unsupervised, on your own initiative, as well as enjoy working as part of a team.
