Our new factory unit is due to be completed this summer which means several new roles being available for the right applicants
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Toolmaker
We are leading specialists in the design, manufacture and installation of bespoke magnetically shielded rooms, and have an expanding customer base throughout the UK, Europe, USA and Asia
With a full manufacturing facility in Staplehurst, Kent fully equipped with the latest technology we are able to provide our customers with the highest level of service and quality
All of our manufacturing processes, including heat treatment, are integrated in our production plant
As our Toolmaker, you will be responsible for:
* Working within our tool-room department operating our manual & CNC controlled lathes & mills to generate components required for in-house tooling or for parts directly required by our customers
* Utilising your skills in manufacturing forming tools, deep-drawing tools, swaging tools, punch tools, and welding mandrels as well as any necessary associated equipment such as jigs, location nests/mounts, etc
* Most components are designed in-house and will require the successful candidate to use the 3D model to generate the machining code within Inventor CAM software, which feeds directly into the machines
* An ability to work to a high standard and a high level of accuracy to create a clean finish will be a must from thesuccessful candidate
* The successful candidate must have a good understanding of pattern development and should be capable of hand finishing to a high standard working to ranges from 0.35mm to 5mm
In order to be successful in this role you must have:
* Ideally with 3 - 5 years' experience within a machining/tool-room environment
* You must have experience in Heidenhain controllers, Inventor CAM or similar software
* Ideally at least 1 year in design & manufacturing of machine fixturing/ components [die-sets etc.]
* You must be able to read and work from engineering drawings, be a team player and be able to work to tight deadlines
* An ability to produce small, complex batches of components to tight tolerances to provide the high-quality standards required for our customers
* Be a team player and be able to work to tight deadlines
Desirable Skills:
* Experience of sliding head lathes and/or spark eroders would be advantageous
* Experience of working within an ISO9001 quality system
* Familiar with Lean/ 5S principles
