This role sits within an agile multi-disciplinary software team. The team carries out full project management, design, development, quality assurance, release management, deployment and operational support of the software solutions built. This role is pivotal in ensuring that servers and services are well maintained and run smoothly, interuption-free and incident-free. Working in the retail sector all operations need to be compliant with PCI-DSS.

Responsibilities

Perform server and service configuration management
Carry out deployments of in-house software
Perform routine weekly/monthly/quarterly checks on servers and services to ensure smooth running of systems and regulatory compliance
Monitor routine status reports and respond appropriately to ensure smooth running of systems
Ensure routine backups are taken
Monitor DNS registrations to ensure timely renewal
Monitor and maintains compliance with regulatory infosec requirements (PCIDSS, GDPR, DPA2018)
MySQL/Percona database maintenance and administration
As part of the incident response team, provide out-of-hours 24/7 on-call support on rotaSkills and Experience - Essential

Experience installing and configuring Windows desktops
Experience installing and configuring Linux servers with Apache, PHP, MySQL
Understanding of IP, TCP, UDP, Routing, NAT
Strong MySQL to maintain and upgrade schema
Ability to read and understand PHP, JavaScript, CSS; and make simple changes as appropriate for incident responseSkills and Experience - Desirable

Experience working with clustered environments
Ability to configure Centos 6, 7 and 8 hosts
Experience working with high performance PerconaDB clusters with zero downtime
Experience working with SOLR, Lucene, Varnish, Squid
Experience managing dedicated firewall and VPN appliances
Understanding of PCI-DSS
Experience working within a data-secure environment (IG, PCI-DSS, ISO27001/2, COBIT)
Experience working with high performance MySQL environments
Experience configuring Mac desktopsSalary: Dependent on experience

Location: Candidates can be based anywhere in the UK as this is a remote working opportunity but travel to Head Office on the South Coast will be required from time to time
