School Caretaker Vacancy (20 or 37-hour role dependant on candidate)
Grade D £20,493 – £23,080 FTE (pay review pending)
We will consider full time or part-time applications for this role.
Part time: 20 hours per week, 52 weeks per year (7.15am-11.15am)
Full time: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year (7.15-3.40pm)
The school is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, conscientious and self-motivated Site Caretaker
to provide a key role in maintaining our school site, ensuring a welcoming and safe environment
for our whole school community.
With sound DIY skills, you will be required to carry out a range of duties including opening the
site, general internal and external maintenance and completing H&S checks / maintaining
records.
The post has key holder responsibilities; you will be expected to be part of a call out system and
be responsible for the security of the school. An element of the post requires that you meet and
liaise with external contractors, oversee their work, ensuring good value for money. A
requirement of the full time position will be to undertake some cleaning on a daily basis.
The hours will be either 7.15-11.15am or 7.15-3.40pm Monday to Friday during term time with a
more flexible approach required during school holidays to enable school to accommodate
contractors who may be on site. All holidays will need to be taken during the school holiday
period.

This post will initially be based at Boringdon Primary School; however, the post holder may be
required to work at any of the schools within Westcountry Schools Trust.
