I am pleased to announce an exciting opportunity to work with a market leading business in Macclesfield who operate from a custom built site unit and pride themselves on investment and development to remain at the forefront of their respective industry.
Due to company growth their Supply Chain Department is seeking an Import/Export Controller to join their busy and growing team and be involved in all aspects of the import/export process.
The company are proudly certified ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 holders and are also accredited with an Investors in People Silver award. The business also take pride in their quality of product as well as representing their suppliers.
You will work within a team who are very diligent and hard-working but equally are a friendly and approachable bunch with a diverse culture.
* Coordinate air & sea freight customs clearances
* Manage communications with freight forwarders
* Ensure correct declaration of duty & VAT
* Establish all customs compliance requirements in UK & NI, and monitor import compliance processes and procedures
* All aspects of CFSP & customs warehousing
* Manage communications with freight forwarders and couriers
* Liaise with internal teams to ensure all exports have correct export license & return shipment paperwork
* Liaise with suppliers and manage the reverse process for warranty repairs
* Diligently monitor entry status, intervene as necessary and respond to information requests from Customs
* Conduct monthly customs checks, identify customs risks to prevent and mitigate violations, implementing any corrective and preventative actions
* Keep business informed of any material changes (Customs tariff, procedures, or regulations) in customs legislation
* Maintain communication and records regarding general HMRC entries, tariff classification of commodity codes, binding tariff information, tolling entries and HMRC audits
Applicants must be able to demonstrate the following skills:
* Experience from working for a freight forwarder in an import/export role
* A broad understanding of the overall customs process
* Experience of working with HMRC (ideally in relation to imports)
* Knowledge of the HMRC CHIEF System and all software processes
* Knowledge of export procedures
* Extensive knowledge of the customs tariff
The company are offering a salary of GBP28k-GBP30k, along with an outstanding package including contributory pension, free pension consultation, 20 days holiday + Bank Holidays with one week off at Christmas (this does not come out of your allowance), Annual Bonus up to 5% and onsite parking.
