RECRUITMENTiQ is working in partnership with a nationally renowned art collection situated in the town of Barnard Castle in their search for an Operations Manager.
Working within the wider operations which comprises catering, retail, and event, the post oversees all opportunities to build on the commercial growth and profitability of the Trading Co. for covenanting profits to the museum.
Main Duties
The development and implementation of a strategic plan the operation that delivers a clear future direction of travel whilst ensuring its fit and contribution to the museum's wider Vision, Mission and 5-year Business Plan.
The setting of annual budgets and KPI's and their implementation in liaison with the museum senior management, the Finance Manager, Enterprises senior staff and the directors of the museum.
The sustained growth of income and profitability across all departments using effective market intelligence, identifying sales and commercial opportunities and their implementation by way of liaising with the museum's marketing and PR team.
The monitoring of all operational financial protocols, the interpretation of monthly management accounts, the use of updated forecasts and the implementation of actions to ensure that financial targets are met.
The day-to-day management of the Trading Co. including all operational matters, and compliance with health and safety regulations and all other statutory legislation including the holding of appropriate licenses.
Responsibility for staff management, motivation and leadership, training and development, rotas including their financial objectives and compliance with all employment legislation.
To ensure the delivery of the highest standards of customer care and service and meet with the museum's objectives for the visitor experience.
To be responsible for and assist with any other operational matters that could be reasonably expected in the operation of the Trading Co.
Essential requirements:
* Operational working experience within the services sector (preferably hospitality).
* Experience in financial budgeting and the interpretation of management accounts.
* Good organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively.
* Proven commercial acumen and evidence of marketing skills.
* Ability to successfully deliver projects on time and within available resources.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Good written, verbal communication and IT skills.
* Smart personal appearance and evidence of good social skills.
* Experience in leadership, staff management, staff training and effective teamwork.
* Proven experience in understanding and the ability to maintain high operational standards.
* Ability to work flexibly according to business demands including weekends and evenings.
* Ability and agreement to hold a Personal Licence and Premises Licence.
Desirable requirements:
* Some experience in the retail sector.
* Some experience in the museum or associated cultural sectors.
* To have an appreciation of the artistic and cultural world.
* Full and UK current driving licence
