Job Title: Quality Manager

Location: Commutable from the Dumfries, Carlisle, Lockerbie areas

Salary: Negotiable dependent upon experience

Specialist recruitment agency Martin Anthony has been assigned by a leading company to recruit a Quality Manager to develop and maintain Quality across a number of business areas. The company are market leaders with an excellent reputation. The successful candidate must have fast paced experience and the ability to deal with staff of all levels.

It is the role of the Quality Manager to ensure that appropriate governance is in place for processes within the business. It is the definition, compliance / control and improvement of these processes that are a key requirement for this role.

The prime purpose of the role is to ensure that customers, processes and activities are supported efficiently and effectively. The Quality Manager will be expected to liaise with staff from a range of different working environments and therefore excellent communication skills are required. The Quality Manager is expected to take a proactive approach to quality in raising the awareness and profile of quality throughout the business.

Key Responsibilities:

* Implementing and maintaining the companies ISO 9001:2000 accreditation and any other standards applicable to the Company.

* Ensuring compliance with national and international standards and legislation

* Acting as the key contact with customers'/external auditors and taking responsibility for ensuring the execution of corrective actions.

* Providing feedback to Senior Management Team on customer complaints, cost of quality, audit findings, corrective actions etc.

* Defining procedures in conjunction with operating staff.

* Working methodically to establish a clearly defined system that all staff can apply.

* Promoting quality achievement and performance improvement across the organisation.

* Writing management system and investigation reports.

* Monitoring performance through gathering relevant data and producing statistical reports.

Qualifications & Experience Needed:

* Educated to a good level in relevant discipline and relevant Quality qualifications

* Experience of quality assurance gained within a manufacturing environment.

* Must have previous experience in implementing and maintaining ISO 9001 systems.
