Procurement Specialist
Electronic & Manufactured Components
Location: Hayes Middlesex
Our client is a leading designer, manufacturer and installer of digital signage and intelligent street furniture for Transport, Retail, Smart City and Telecommunications applications.
We require a high caliber senior manager to assist in the delivery of a number of high-profile projects.
The candidate will have had previous procurement experience with the procurement and manufacture of electro-mechanical products, preferably ones that are intended for use outdoors.
Previous electrical, electronics, manufacturing and telecommunications background / experience would be advantageous.
Role & Responsibilities
Commodity Procurement and Stock Control
•Detailed knowledge of procurement best practices and knowledge of tendering procedures.
•Knowledge of electronic component and digital screen specification requirements.
•Drive inventory to optimum levels (using MRP).
•Rapid response to problems and shortages.
•Assist with Stock Takes.
Cost Reduction
•Ensure materials and components are purchased at most competitive prices
•To drive cost savings across commodities products and suppliers. Working with design, and production departments to drive change and source alternative products.
•Develop strong relationships across the projects, working collaboratively, influencing stakeholders including project managers, department managers and key decision makers to drive behaviour that ensures appropriate involvement of procurement sourcing activities.
•Sourcing new suppliers.
•Commodity research and spend analysis.
Supplier Relationship Management and Contract Negotiation
•Drive down costs by leading in negotiation.
•Manage risks with supply chain.
•Develop good relationship with Suppliers and drive performance (OTDIF)
•Hold stock level and forecasting discussions with suppliers.
•Influence best lead times.
•Resolve delivery quality issues efficiently.
•Carry out supplier audits
Manage and influence procurement best practices across the company
•Check purchase orders for accuracy and that correct details are included. Ensure they are issued in a timely way. Monitor and expedite outstanding purchase orders.
•Regular data analysis reporting and presenting internally on immediate and future priorities for the contract, risks, and potential solutions.
•Work with accounts payable on purchase ledger invoicing. Ensure invoice queries are expedited efficiently.
•Maintain product and services quality levels, and meet customer delivery deadlines.
Qualifications & Key Skills
•Membership of CIPS
•A good knowledge of manufacturing, electronics engineering, electro-mechanical construction methods and materials
•GCSE English and Maths
•Microsoft Office including Word; Excel; Powerpoint
•Training or significant experience with MRP / ERP systems
•Valid Driving License (Cat B)
Package:
Full time, permanent position
Salary offer: GBP30,000 to GBP50,000/yr
Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm
